This evening workshop for beginners will introduce you to the basics of formal calligraphy. You will learn how to use a broad nib pen through a series of warm up exercises. You will learn the basic strokes and anatomy of formal gothic calligraphy letters. You will learn how to write a basic lowercase gothic alphabet and we will also talk about different tools and materials you can use.
This workshop will take place in the studio of calligrapher and lettering artist Kate Hursthouse. It is a small, intimate workshop which allows for more one-on-one time with the tutor.
Minimum: 2 people // Maximum: 4 people
What you will get:
3 hours of instruction with Kate Hursthouse
1 Broad nib felt pen
Worksheets developed to further your practice at home
Paper, ink and other pens will be supplied to use during the workshop
